Last January, the student athletics association of Tilburg, Parcival, challenged Asterix: whose members can run the most kilometers. Asterix won! (check the post on our blog)
Parcival had requested a rematch, this time in a new format: 1k time trial. The association that wins two out of three categories (fastest 5 men, fastest 5 women and highest participation rate) wins some nice prizes.
A bonus prize for the person wearing the most purple during their run. This run-off took place Saturday February 13.
In the snow, ice, and extreme cold, more than 16 Asterix members challenged themselves and ran 1km as fast as they could. The cold air lead to painful lungs, but the sunshine made everything alright.
For the sprinters among us, running 1k was far enough, but most long distance runners enjoyed the sun a bit more and did cooling downs that were 10x longer than the race itself.
All participants and their times can be seen below.
